The Sequence That Inspired 26 & 2

Yogis who practice a set sequence have good reasons for doing so. There’s something to be said about the consistency that can be so comforting to return to. When you know a sequence in your body, you can shut your mind off and flow through it, just like a moving meditation'. This is why so many people enjoy Hot 26 & 2.

That being said, most people don’t know that this sequence evolved from an 84-Posture “Advanced” Series. If you are at a point where you feel comfortable with your 26 & 2 practice, now is a great time to start exploring the Ghosh lineage and expanding your knowledge of this yoga.

What to expect in the 84 Series:

  • Lots of Pranayama

  • Half Moon Series

  • Lotus Series

  • Cobra Series

  • Fixed Firm Series

  • Double Sided Series

  • Bow Leg Series

  • Tortoise Series

  • Plough Series

  • Full Series

  • Peacock Series

  • Headstand and Handstand Series

  • Tiger Series

  • Mudras, Bandhas and Kriyas

These classes are typically done in 1.5 to 3 hours and are treated more like a playful workshop than a more serious, internally-focused class. However, the 84 Series is quite a large jump from what we’re used to. There’s no denying it requires a lot of strength, flexibility and discipline. This is why most studios will offer an “Intermediate” Class to explore aspects of the 84 Series within our range of ability. The Intermediate Class is a great stepping stone between the two, and an incredible way to enhance your practice both physically and mentally.

This upcoming March, Evolation is hosting our first-ever Intermediate Yoga Teacher Training! Join us and become a master of your body, and ultimately your life. Space is limited so read more and apply today if you want to take your yoga to the next level!
