meet & greet with chef juliette snijders

Juliette did her yoga teacher training with evolation yoga in 2015 and is one of the many talented chefs connected to evolation yoga. Juliette works as a yoga teacher in Sweden and is also a trained Raw chef, Feng Shui consultant and organic gardener. We are so grateful to have her!

What inspired you to take evolation’s teacher training?
I had thought of being a yoga teacher for a few years.
I used to commute 1 hour just one way by train to the city of Malmo to attend Bikram Yoga classes at Bikram Yoga Malmo.

In the spring of 2015 I learned that Ulrika Nielsen Biel (Ulrika also trained with Evolation) was opening a Hot Yoga studio in my home town. We met, talked and agreed upon sending me to evolation Hot Yoga Teacher training. All things just came together that day. I started out in Madrid and completed the training in Santa Barbara.

What is your current business?
I work as a yoga teacher and Raw chef and love working with fermented foods like kombucha, kimchi, rejuvelac.

What do you love about running a business?
Freedom is the most interesting in running your own business.

Do you currently teach yoga, and if so, what do you love most about teaching?
Yes, I teach yoga as much as I can. What I love most? The energy! However tired, however sick, after teaching I am all cured and energized. I love to help yogis with modifications and helping them to adapt the yoga to their bodies. everybody can do yoga, you just have to work with your limitations and accept them. (I know that by heart as I have had a back injury and really needed to adapt my yoga and sometimes still have to)

Any advice you want to share for someone considering yoga teacher training?
Be open, be flexible, no expectations, just do it. You might just learn that you love teaching or you might come home with a lot of experience for your home practice.
